Terms of Use
Effective date: October 28, 2026
These terms govern your use of aeriusbookkeeping.ca and the Aerius client portal. They work together with our Subscription Terms of Service and our Privacy & Data Policy.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By using our website or client portal, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy & Data Policy. If you are a client, our Subscription Terms of Service also apply and govern if there is any conflict.
2. Who may use the portal
The portal is for Aerius clients and the people they authorize. You must be at least 18 and have authority to act for your business. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure, for all activity under your account, and for keeping your account information accurate.
3. What the portal is for
You may use the portal only for your own business's bookkeeping with Aerius: uploading statements and records, answering our questions, managing your accounts and subscription, and viewing your reports.
4. Uploads
Upload only records needed for your bookkeeping. Do not upload banking passwords, Social Insurance Numbers, full card numbers, patient charts or clinical notes. You confirm you have the right to share everything you upload.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the website or portal unlawfully or fraudulently
- Try to access another client's information or any part of our systems you are not permitted to use
- Test, probe or interfere with our security
- Copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell any part of the portal
- Upload viruses or other harmful files
- Share your login with people outside your business
6. Your content
You keep ownership of the records you upload. You give us permission to use them only to provide our services, as set out in our Privacy & Data Policy. Aerius owns the website, the portal and everything in them other than your content, including our design, software, methods and report formats.
7. Availability and disclaimer
We work to keep the portal available but do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free. The website and portal are provided "as is". Website content is general information only and is not financial, tax or legal advice.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Aerius is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from use of the website or portal. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access to the portal if these terms are breached, if an account appears compromised, or if required by law. Ending your subscription is governed by our Subscription Terms of Service. Sections 6, 7, 8 and 11 continue after access ends.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with an updated date and notify active clients of material changes. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction.
